I believe that every organization has the potential to create cultures where people feel connected, valued, and empowered to thrive. If you’re seeking guidance on how to do better—how to build processes, enhance culture, and cultivate a true sense of belonging—let’s do that work together.

With a BA in American Studies from UC Berkeley and a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard University, I have dedicated my career to helping organizations deepen their commitment to equity and inclusion. My professional journey spans work as an LGBTQIA+ Program Lead and Diversity Specialist in higher education, followed by my role as a Finance Journalist and SEO Specialist at NerdWallet. This diverse background allows me to create innovative solutions that bridge equity and inclusion with strategic content and organizational development.

I approach consulting with a humanistic lens, recognizing that workplaces are more than professional settings—they are sites of connection and belonging. Leveraging transformative justice frameworks, I support organizations in addressing bias and exclusion, helping them move from challenge to meaningful change. Even in the face of steep equity obstacles, I remain optimistic: I believe every organization can become more inclusive and welcoming, regardless of where they begin.

My consulting partners have included Cal State LA, Nonprofit Finance Fund, Hinge Health, and Covenant House California, among others. I also engage as a speaker and writer, with my work appearing on platforms such as Fox Soul TV, UC Berkeley, Mills College, and the Harvard Club of New York, and my writing featured in outlets like Huffington Post, BBC, Elite Daily, Thebody.com, and Zora Mag.

Together, we can build upon what already exists in your organization to create a culture of connection, equity, and respect. When organizations know better, they can do better—and I’m here to help make that vision a reality.

My Consulting Methods

  • Curiosity

It all starts by asking: who is feeling excluded here?

  • Compassion

Compassion challenges us to empathize with those on the margins and to build inclusive solutions with them in mind.

  • Collective

Fostering belonging and inclusion is a group effort. It takes collective work to create an organizational culture where everyone experiences belonging.

Feedback From Clients

  • Don Abram

    Founder and Executive Director
    Pride in the Pews

“Ciarra is a consummate interlocutor, intellectual, and institutional leader. Her keen ability to steward and shepherd a project from ideation to completion is truly unmatched. This, coupled with her ability to birth projects that bridge both heart and mind, is what makes her such a compelling partner in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion across sectors.”

  • Chris Lisée

    Director of Marketing and Communication
    Non Profit Finance Fund

“During a particularly difficult period of COVID-19 trauma, anti-Asian racism, and anti-Black violence, Ciarra brought compassion and genuine curiosity to guiding two workshops on grief and building a culture of collective care. In a short time, she built trust and openness to create a space where people could begin to better understand and process grief, and start to build a stronger work culture around community and collective care.”

  • Briana Johnson

    University of Michigan

"Ciarra created a space for many people at the University to be seen. I think for a while, our membership was feeling the exact opposite of that, alongside structures that were not made to handle the massive weight that employees of color are bearing in and outside of work. Being able to connect with one another in a comfortable and safe space allowed for honest reflection and introspection that we can start integrating into not only our meetings but suggestions to the school at large."
